Donation Drive for Jessy

I received a mail from Nina, my head of deoartment a few minutes ago.
Dear ILMU members,

A newly set up FOSEE Welfare Committee, led by Mr Tan Lai Poh, has recently agreed that a donation drive be carried out for our dear friend, Jessy Lee Yan Neo. Most of us are aware that her mother is critically ill with cancer, and is currently going on chemotheraphy in KL. She even sold off her beloved Kelisa to help out her family members with the medical expenses.

As such, any amount of kind donation would be a blessing. I will be knocking from door to door soon to do the collection, and hopefully your kindness will be blessed with more kindness in your life.

A message from Mr Tan: " May your good deeds be blessed by good health and happiness "

This was my reply:

Dear Nina ,

I felt very sad reading your email as it brought back a lot of memories regarding my mother who also succumbed to cancer about a year ago. I know how difficult it is to have someone who is terminally ill at home and the toll it takes on the family ( financially and emotionally)

My family and I would be more than happy to contribute in cash or any other form to her or anyone else who is in need. I was infact planning to have a birthday party for my son and I just realised what a waste of money it will be when I can use it to help someone instead.

What I actually wanted to say was..., it is a good committee to have as it gives us opportunity to do some community service.
